This lamp was made out of a huge boxelder burl that I dug out of the ground, only to find later that it was rotton all through the inside. Disappointed and not knowing how to work with it, I set it aside wondering if it would ever speak to me. Then, suddenly the light went on, and I saw it was to be lamp. I love the creativity in this piece.
